Instead of sending Christmas cards this year we’ve decided to put the money to better use and donate to charity, which one is up to our clients. ComXo have been supporting Windsor Festival for nearly 15 years and are title sponsors of the Windsor Festival School Programme. We’d like to extend this support by donating on our clients’ behalf.
The gift of giving – Windsor Festival Schools' Programme
Windsor Festival School Programme
Windsor Festival aspires to be amongst the premier Music and Arts Festivals in the UK, playing an important part in the cultural life of the local community and reflecting Windsor’s special position as a Royal town.
A registered charity, Windsor Festival was established by Yehudi Menuhin and The Right Reverend Robin Woods, Dean of Windsor, in 1969. It began life as a week-long series of concerts and music making. The programming has since developed to offer a more widely varied Festival with the events held in September now spanning a fortnight and all promoting high quality performances in music and arts, bringing world class musicians, authors and historians to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. In addition to the annual autumn series, Windsor Festival alternates each March between an International String Competition and a Spring Festival focused on youth and community.
ComXo have been supporting Windsor Festival for nearly 15 years and are title sponsors of the Windsor Festival School Programme. Established in 2004, the Schools’ Programme is an initiative which seeks to foster and encourage emerging talent in the Royal Borough, achieved by establishing and maintaining partnerships with all of the state and private secondary schools in Windsor, Maidenhead and Ascot, but above all by inviting their students to engage directly with the arts through their own creativity. This creative competition engages with those studying for GCSEs and AS Levels and seeks submissions to nine categories across three subject areas: Art, Creative Writing and Music Composition.
In 2014 Herbert Smith Freehills, a ComXo Client became involved with the Programme. Impressed by the extremely high standard of work they invited the winners and commended entrants to exhibit their art on the commercial stage in London, in front of clients and guests visiting the firm’s offices. The association, now in its second year is still ongoing and the winning and commended artwork is currently in place at the HSF offices in London with the exhibition evening reception taking place on the 25th January 2017. Please contact your ComXo Client Manager if you would like to join the event.
