Instead of sending Christmas cards this year we’ve decided once again to put the money to better use and donate to charity, which one is up to our clients. The story of supporting The Prince's Trust is that of our long standing client Jason Cousins of Womble Bond Dickinson who has entered the World Marathon Challenge to raise money. We’d like to extend this support by donating on our clients’ behalf.
The gift of giving – The Prince's Trust
Jason Cousins' World Marathon Challenge for
The Prince's Trust
Jason decided to enter the World Marathon Challenge 2018 which is to run 7 marathons in 7 continents within 7 days! Being in his 50th year he wanted to do something big and life changing, not just for himself but for others.
He therefore not only challenged himself to complete the World Marathon Challenge in January 2018 but wanted to raise a substantial amount of money to help under privileged children in the UK. He therefore chose to support The Princes Trust who help young people get into jobs, education and training creating life changing opportunities.
One in eight young people in the UK are not in work, education or training and many of those they support struggle with homelessness, unemployment, mental health problems or a volatile family life. The Prince's Trust believes that every young person deserves the chance to succeed.
The World Marathon Challenge is an amazing logistical and physical challenge which very few people in the world have attempted, let alone achieved. Jason will be running 7 marathons (26.2 miles) in 7 days in 7 continents beginning in the Antarctic Circle, followed by Cape Town, Perth, Dubai, Lisbon, Cartagena (Columbia) and finishing in Miami, all in under 168 hours.
You can follow Jason's journey at www.jasons777marathonchallenge.wordpress.com and donate to him directly if you wish at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jason-cousins2.
Thanks to our clients voting for this worthy cause, we have donated £110 to The Prince's Trust.
