National Telephonists’ Day took place on 10 March 2017 and was a chance for companies across the UK to recognise the work of their telephonists. The day marks the anniversary of the first ever telephone call made by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876.
National Telephonists' Day 2017 - a great success and all for a very worthy cause
This year switchboard management teams within ComXo and many of our City-of-London based clients, organised a vast array of events for their teams. The ComXo office was awash with bake-off entries, superhero costumers, quizzes, an auction, desk safari games and of course endless tea, coffee and goodies served to our wonderful team of switchboard operators. ComXo MD, Andrew Try worked a 24-hour shift to recognise his team’s remarkable efforts, and even managed to visit some clients and their switchboard teams, armed with cupcakes and gifts.
As well as recognising and rewarding the efforts of Switchboard teams, the fun and games were all for a wonderful cause with this year’s chosen charity being Macmillan Cancer Support and we’re delighted to present them with a cheque for £350.
Andrew Try, Managing Director of ComXo commented: “At the heart of everything we do are our telephonists, and National Telephonists’ Day was designed to show our appreciation for the vital role they play in our and our clients’ organisations. I personally relished the opportunity to work a 24-hour shift, spending time with staff across the day and night, seeing everything in action with my own eyes. It was also a pleasure to take some of our Customer Champions to visit several clients in London, spreading the NTD love in the shape of cupcakes! All in all, it truly was a wonderful day and opportunity to celebrate the work of our un-sung heroes, and I’m proud to have been able to support such a fantastic charity.
Planning for 2018 is already underway at ComXo and we look forward to making it just as rewarding and fun as it has been this year.”
