ComXo raise £1,288 for Alexander Devine Childrens Hospice, at the RWRHS Summer Show

July 2016
For a number of years ComXo have had the pleasure of supporting the Royal Windsor Rose and Horticultural Society. The RWRHS is one of the oldest local societies in Windsor and is providing a platform for entertainment, education and competitions around horticulture, arts & crafts and home economics aimed at all ages in the community.

Each year the society stage a Summer Show in the grounds of Windsor Castle and the ComXo team are wholeheartedly involved in the planning and organisation of the event, and this year was no different. In 2015 the ComXo staff staged their monthly bake-off at the show and raised £360 for the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service in Berkshire.

This year, once again we chose to support Alexander Devine and we are delighted to announce that through the sale of ladies hats that were donated, and cakes that were baked by the ComXo team we raised a huge £1,288.42 for this amazing charity.

Julia Philipson, Community Fundraiser at Alexander Devine said “It was a stunning day in the beautiful setting of St George’s where we were completely overwhelmed with everyone’s interest and support of our local children’s charity. We managed to raise a magnificent amount of money and would like to say a massive thank you to ComXo for supporting us and to everyone who donated a hat, to all our generous customers who bought a cake, hat or had a go on our Giving Tree and to all our amazing volunteers who made the day possible. This is such an important year for the charity with our local children’s hospice build well underway and everyone’s support was so incredibly appreciated. We can’t wait till next year!”

Andrew Try said “Alexander Devine are a wonderful local charity and we are proud to support them. Community involvement is very important to ComXo and sponsoring both the Royal Windsor Summer Show and making cakes for Alexander Devine is a good, fun way of getting involved and raising money for this worthwhile cause’’
